Part 1 : Scholastic Areas
 A. Academic performance :
1.      A candidate is required to study English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science & Social Studies.
      
2.      Each academic year has been divided into two terms :
                   First Term (April to Sept. )   : FA1 (10%)+FA2(10%)+ SA1(30%)=50%
                  Second Term (Oct to March ): FA3 (10%)+FA4(10%)+ SA2(30%)=50%

3.      To qualify in a subject Part I-(A ), A candidate must obtain minimum of Grade D.

       3. A. Suggestive Activities(Any two to be assessed)
1.      Literary & Creative Skills : Debate, Declamation, Creative writing, Recitation, Essay writing, Poster Making, Slogan writing etc.
2.      Scientific & ICT Skills: Science Club, Projects, Maths Club, Science Quiz, Science Exhibition, Olympiads etc.      
3.      Visual & Performing Arts: Music(Vocal/Instrument), Dance, Drama, Painting, Craft, Sculpture , Puppetry, Folk, Arts forms ets.
4.      Organizational & Leadership Skills: Eco-Club, Heath & Wellness Club, Disaster & Management club, AEP & other Clubs.
       3. B. Physical & Health Education (Any two to be assessed) 
Sports/Indigenous Sports(Kho-Kho etc), Scouting & Guiding, Swimming, Gymnastics, Yoga, First Aid, Gardening, Work education.

Important rules for promotion  :Overall performance of the candidate is based on the achievement in the scholastic Areas as well as co scholastic Areas.
Under Scholastics Area Grades has been upgraded to the next higher grade in one or two subjects as per the total Grade Point achieved under Co-Scholastic Areas 2(A), 2(B) & Co-Scholastic Activities 3(A), 3(B)as given below:
¨      30 to 42 : Grade in two subjects of scholastic area are upgraded.
¨      17 to 29 : Grade in one subject of the scholastic area are upgraded.
¨      16 and below : No-upgradation of grades in subjects of scholastic area.
 Up-gradation has been done from lower grade to higher grade.
 No-grades in the subjects of scholastic area has been up-graded twice.
 
 Those candidates who have obtained Grade E1 or E2 in the subjects shall have to improve their performance through maximum of 5 sub-sequent attempts to qualify the subject(s).
